The Blue Fox Restaurant in San Francisco (1942 to 1993)

The Blue Fox was one of San Francisco's most elegant and fashionable restaurants. It was regularly listed as one of the country's top dining establishments. In its heyday, the restaurant attracted celebrities such as Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe. They came for the swank decor -- gold-leaf walls, chandeliers and red carpet -- as well as specialties like pheasant baked in clay and strawberries Armagnac.
