This
is just the cutest site. You can enjoy a "real audio" greeting
and great photography with "mouthwatering pictures" of just
plain good old down home cookin'.
There's also a very nice "how to" section with step by step pictures, and to make it all more appetizing...her specialty is "chocolate"!!! ;~) |
I
fell in love with Nana as soon as I saw her picture. After browsing
her site, I loved her more! OMG! Recipes to die for, tips and tricks
to pass down through generations and an awesome collection of dessert
recipes ... what more could a person forced to cook ask for? ;-) On Nana's main dish pages, you will find recipes for Hash Brown Pizza, Spaghetti Pie, Pasta and Shrimp Alfredo and many more traditional recipes such as Baked Pork Chops, Stuffed Chicken Breasts and Batter-Dipped Chicken. All Nana's recipes are easy to understand with comprehensive lists of ingredients. On the dessert pages, there are cake recipes separated into "chocolate and not," some super cookie recipes, pie recipes and a candy page with nary a mention of a candy thermometer. I like that in a candy recipe! Some of the more challenging recipes have links to Nana's "How To" page that will give you detailed instructions and pictures. Betty Crocker has nothing on Nana! Bon Appetit! |
Everyday Cooking With a Flair
by Karen Potter
In BRIEFME
weekly e-zine on February 1, 2000 in the Food & Cooking section:
Visiting
Nana's is a special treat. This is a general cooking site with lots
of recipes for everyday cooking. The recipes use basic everyday ingredients
to create exciting meals. The Pretzel Salad, which calls for Cool Whip,
strawberries, and of course pretzels, is far from the everyday salad!
I found the Hash Brown Pizza a very interesting way to serve hash browns, as the potatoes are used as the crust and all your favorites get piled on top. This is a recipe that can be used for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! The Baked Potato soup sounds like a great way to make potato soup and a good way to get rid of leftover baked potatoes. Whatever your everyday favorites are, you will probably find a creative new way to serve them by visiting this site. |
